EXACT Release: March 2025
March brought a range of enhancements and fixes to improve the efficiency and reliability of EXACT. With refinements to the appointment book, bringing you a clearer, more user-friendly experience. Alongside this, several bugs were resolved to ensure appointment data remains accurate and consistent, reducing frustration for your reception team.
Beyond the diary, reporting capabilities have expanded with the introduction of a User Activity report, providing greater visibility into system usage. Updates to user settings, and other system functionalities further enhance accuracy, control, and performance across the platform.

Appointment Book
With your diary at the heart of your reception, we’ve focused on streamlining the short notice list and resolving some bugs that crept in to reduce stress for your reception team.
📆 Enhanced the usability of the Short Notice List by simplifying the user interface to include an expandable section called Dates patient can’t attend. This section includes all of the options relating to dates that the selected patient cannot attend the practice.
🐜 An issue with appointment notes not saving for cancelled past appointments has now been resolved.
🐜 The created by user and date for family appointments was being overwritten when any edits to an appointment was made is now resolved.
🐜 A resolve has been implemented for a bug with the create next appointment functionality, using this option was populating the new appointment with the previous appointments data.
Reporting
A New report has been added to improve user activity reporting. The User Activity report displays information about your users' activities in EXACT, this includes the ability to select which activities you wish to view.
You can access this report alongside your current reports via Administration – Reports – User Activity within the Practice Management category.
An additional update provided the option to set the patient and activity criteria independently.
User Changes
A couple of improvements to user settings and functionality were implemented in March.
🐜 To make it possible to reverse a username change, restrictions have been implemented to the Change a Username functionality. This option has now been made available only to users with access to the rollback folder. The option itself is still visible for all users, however, a warning prompt will appear if rollback access is not available.
✅ A new option has been added for users to individually opt-out of EXACT Hub notifications.
Other Improvements and Bug Fixes
Updates to other features and functionality in EXACT included;
🐜 Fixed an issue where deleted patients appeared in patient searches after a Delete Aged Data operation was run.
🐜 Fixed an issue where Presentation Manager documents couldn’t be previewed or generated if merged patient, provider or specialist data contained a pipe character (|).
📢 Marketing Manager: Removed the group by family calculation from the campaign dashboard as this was causing performance issues.
🔗 Added a button that allows V2 standard links to be launched in a separate browser.
🐜 Fixed an issue where the SMS delivery status was not updated.
🐜 Northern Ireland: Fixed an issue where ticking ‘Under the care of another dentist’ deselected ‘Treatment on referral’.
🐜 New Zealand: Fixed an issue where SMS status was not being updated.
All the updates and content in this blog have been implemented in EXACT V25.38 to V25.46.
